Job Summary

The Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) is searching for an NC Film Office intern for Spring 2021 semester. This is a part-time paid position for a student looking for an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of North Carolina’s economy, all the while gaining a ton of resume-building experience and learning more about the resources film commissions have available to productions. You will gain an understanding of the various Crew related positions available within the industry. You will also gain insight into film incentives in the recruitment process of projects and the work of government in relation to the film industry.

EDPNC recruits new businesses to the state, helps those already here grow their operations, counsels entrepreneurs and small business owners, and promotes the state as a tourism destination.

Roles & Responsibilities

As the NC Film Office Intern, you will:

Review locations within the state’s locations library and help add contacts for those properties

Assist in updating databases for contacts for permits required within specific towns/cities

Aid in the updating of industry contact lists

Audit of statewide Crew Database: compare Crew listings with membership reports from industry guilds/associations;

Contact guild/association members not listed and ask them to register as well as contact members with different information and update appropriate listing;

Contribute to breaking down scripts for potential projects;

Communicate with Crew members professionally to verify industry, update contact info and follow up as needed;

Provide a weekly progress report on working projects;

When appropriate, scout (visiting and photographing) alongside Film Commissioner, potential new locations to add to the state locations database for future project pitches.

Skills & Qualifications

Self-motivated and able to work independently

Detail-oriented and reliable

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel required

Ability to contribute to multiple areas as needed, from updating databases to traveling statewide with Film Commissioner

Team player with a positive attitude
