TEAM Industries Andrews, Inc., an engineering-driven design and manufacturing company, will add 20 jobs and invest $3 million at its facility in Andrews, North Carolina. With the help of this grant, the company will renovate the facility it has occupied for the past 13 years.

“Manufacturers know North Carolina is the place to grow thanks to our strong workforce, favorable business climate, and exceptional worker training,” Gov. Roy Cooper said. “These new manufacturing positions will bring valuable job opportunities to help these rural communities thrive.”

TEAM Industries specializes in machining technically-difficult precision gears and components for various automotive, recreational, aerospace and agricultural industries. TEAM Industries has been in Andrews since 2005. Customers include Harley Davidson, Polaris Industries, Curtiss-Wright and Bombardier Recreational Products. This renovation will include upgrades to air conditioning that will allow TEAM Industries to better control critical processes and products.

Greg Boehm, General Manager of TEAM Industries Andrews, Inc., said, “The assistance from the state is greatly appreciated; it should allow TEAM to acquire better qualified employees and provide an improved working environment.”

TEAM is an acronym which stands for Technology, Engineering, Automation and Manufacturing. TEAM Industries is committed to providing products that meet customer requirements by focusing on continual improvement, quality objectives and an effective management system.

Salaries for the new jobs will vary by position. Once all positions are filled, the average salary will be $31,500. The average salary in Cherokee County is $30,804.

“TEAM Industries has been a committed employer in Cherokee County for over a decade, and this expansion is a vote of confidence in the community and the health of the automotive and aerospace industries in North Carolina,” said Commerce Secretary Anthony M. Copeland.

The North Carolina Department of Commerce and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) were instrumental in supporting the company’s expansion decision.

A performance-based grant of $50,000 from the One North Carolina Fund will help facilitate Team Industries’ expansion to North Carolina. The One N.C. Fund provides financial assistance to local governments to help attract economic investment and to create jobs. Companies receive no money upfront and must meet job creation and capital investment targets to qualify for payment. All One NC grants require a matching grant from local governments and any award is contingent upon that condition being met.

“The talent and community in Cherokee County has supported TEAM Industries’ continued success in the automotive and aerospace industry,” said N.C. Senator Jim Davis. “I am proud to welcome these 20 new jobs and $3 million investment in Andrews.”

In addition to state Commerce and the EDPNC, other key partners in the project include the North Carolina General Assembly, the North Carolina Community College System, Tri-County Community College and Cherokee County.
