The North Carolina Global TransPark (GTP), operating within Foreign-Trade Zone No. 214, offers an 11,500-foot runway and warehouse facilities with direct runway and highway access. The Transpark has access to an onsite rail spur, a fiber optic network and two deep water seaports.
The Marine Corps Air Station at Cherry Point maintains a Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) that provides maintenance, engineering and logistics support for Navy and Marine Corps aviation, in addition to airframe and engine maintenance for the F-35.
The 33,000-square-foot Spirit Aerosystems Composite Center of Excellence is a training center designed to serve the growing aerospace industry in North Carolina. It’s anchored by a composites training lab operated by Lenoir Community College to support pathways for careers in aerospace and related industries.
The NextGen Air Transportation (NGAT) at North Carolina State University focuses on developing improvements to air traffic control, airspace management, airport and airspace system capacity, surface traffic management, and flight safety, specifically as it relates to the integration of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) into domestic airspace.
