Marshall USA LLC, a subsidiary of Marshall Aerospace, a British aerospace and defense contractor, has announced it will invest $50 million for a new planned maintenance inspection (PMI) facility at Piedmont Triad Airport in Greensboro, North Carolina, creating 240 jobs in Guilford County. The facility will be Marshall Aerospace’s U.S. Operations Hub, which will include maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) services and engineering operations to service C-130 aircraft for the United States Marine Corps.
“We are pleased Marshall Aerospace has chosen North Carolina and is joining an expanding aerospace landscape at Piedmont Triad International Airport,” said Christopher Chung, CEO of the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina. “North Carolina has consistently proven that it’s the best state to do business, and companies like Marshall Aerospace are attracted to our available workforce, workforce development programs and existing successful aerospace industry.”
Marshall Aerospace, one of the world’s largest independent aerospace and defense companies in the world, is a subsidiary of Marshall, a Cambridge, England-based company with diverse offerings in fleet solutions, real estate and workforce development. The EDPNC provided more than a year of support to Marshall Aerospace as it evaluated real estate, business costs, incentives, workforce and talent pipelines across numerous states. Marshall Aerospace ultimately chose North Carolina and Piedmont Triad International Airport as its location due to the Triad’s aerospace cluster and proximity to talent and workforce training opportunities.
The Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina would like to recognize the North Carolina Department of Commerce as well as other key partners involved in this project, including North Carolina General Assembly, the North Carolina Department of Transportation, the North Carolina Community College System, North Carolina A&T State University, Guilford Tech Community College, the Piedmont Triad International Airport, Duke Energy, the City of Greensboro, Guilford County, the Guilford County Economic Development Alliance and the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce.
