West Africa Nations: Sierra Leone & Ghana Trade Mission

November 16 - 25, 2026
Trade Mission

North Carolina’s trade mission to West Africa — Sierra Leone and Ghana — connects the state’s key industries with two emerging markets offering significant opportunities for export growth and foreign direct investment. As both nations expand their focus on critical minerals, agriculture, life sciences, mining, and infrastructure, this mission positions North Carolina companies to forge direct relationships with industry leaders, government officials, and investment partners in the region.

Key activities and objectives of the mission include developing a North Carolina/West Africa trade corridor, identifying regional distributors and manufacturing opportunities, and exploring FDI opportunities into both North Carolina and West Africa. The mission will also include high-level engagements such as an AfCFTA Secretariat Executive Briefing and roundtable discussions with the Ministries of Health & Life Sciences, Trade and Industry, and Communications and Innovation, as well as collaboration on advanced infrastructure and port development.

The goal is to promote strategic global trade, strengthen long-term co-development opportunities, and advance EDPNC’s broader mission of trade expansion and global investment attraction.
