The Business Development team, responsible for sourcing quality project leads from domestic and global markets, had a successful year generating interest in or North Carolina to prospective companies. The team represented the state at marquee trade shows, including the Farnborough Air Show, The Battery Show, CPHI Japan/Europe, and SelectUSA, the largest trade show for foreign direct investment in the world with 5,000 attendees from 96 international markets.
In 2024, the Business Development team generated 124 qualified project leads and 23 of those leads sourced by the team chose North Carolina for their operations.
Notable Announcements
Sourced and nurtured by the EDPNC Japan office, NIPRO Medical Corporation is a world leader in the healthcare and medical device industry. Last summer NIPRO announced it will invest $397.8 million to build its first North American manufacturing center of excellence in Greenville, North Carolina, creating 232 jobs in Pitt County.
SBA Home, a Lithuania-based furniture manufacturer, will create 250 jobs in Davie County. The newly created company says it will invest more than $70 million to establish its first North American furniture production facility in the Town of Mocksville.
A domestic lead nurtured by the Business Development team, MetOx International Inc., is a pioneering manufacturer of high-temperature superconducting wire that will build a major production facility in Chatham County, creating 333 jobs. The company will invest $193.7 million in North Carolina.
