Increasing Media Coverage for North Carolina

The team also promotes North Carolina for business attraction through a global public relations strategy. In 2024, North Carolina garnered 82 pieces of media coverage, including features in The Financial Times, Fortune and Nikkei Asia, and reached an international audience of 1.29 billion readers.

Hurricane Helene Response

In the final months of 2024, marketing efforts shifted to address the impact of Hurricane Helene, providing immediate information and access to resources for affected businesses in Western North Carolina through our website, social media and Existing Industry communications.

The team developed a new campaign, “And so, we move forward!” to convey to out-of-state business audiences that, while many communities were reeling from the impacts of the storm, most of North Carolina was still very much ‘open for business’ and not to be overlooked for expansion opportunities.
